Flinders Island rises from Bass Strait in a spectacular line of beaches and mountains. The rugged coastline features beautiful white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters and red-lichen covered granite rocks. It is beautiful, wild, rugged and remote, known for its stunning scenery, diverse ecosystems and rich history.

Kerri Ainsworth (set designer, installation artist and traveller), was inspired by her passion for art and travel to design creative adventures for people, like herself, looking for a more authentic and immersive travel experience. Her background is in film, television and events as a Production Designer, Artist and Creative Director. The scope of her practice included designing and project managing the fabrication and installation of large-scale artworks and environments for Special Events and Public Spaces. Kerri has a Masters Degree in Design from the University of NSW, specialising in Public Art Installation, Event Design and Sustainable Practice
ACCOMMODATION AT MOUNTAIN SEAS LODGE
Mountain Seas Lodge is a stunning, remote property located at the foot of Mount Strzelecki, featuring both mountain and ocean views. It offers elegance amidst the rugged wilderness, cosy and comfortable rooms, all with private bathrooms, a bar and our own private chef who provides delicious, home-cooked meals. The property features private walking trails, fresh water streams, ponds, waterfalls and sculptural granite boulders. During your stay you will be sharing the land with wallabies, wombats, the rare blonde echidna and over 200 different bird species. It is a peaceful and tranquil place where you can enjoy mother nature in all her glory.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 – SUNDAY JANUARY 31 – ESSENDON AIRPORT TO FLINDERS ISLAND
Welcome to Flinders Island. At 12.30pm you will be picked up at the airport and driven to Whitemark, the island’s main town, to pick up lunch and any food supplies you may need. After settling everyone into their rooms, we will meet for a briefing, followed by drinks and a stunning 2 course Welcome Dinner (D).
DAY 2 – MONDAY FEBRUARY 1 – FLINDERS ISLAND
Breakfast is from 8am – 9am each morning. At 9.30am you will be driven to a location close to Mountain Seas Lodge. Lunch each day is on location. Our daily itinerary is totally flexible and will depend on the weather conditions. Dinner each evening is at 6.30pm. (B,L,D)
DAY 3 – TUESDAY FEBRUARY 2
At 9.30am we will be driven to another painting location and picked up around 4pm. Lunch each day is on location. In the afternoon, may wish to continue painting on the property, photograph the wildlife or have a relaxing sauna on the deck. Dinner in the evening is at 6.30pm. (B,L,D)
DAY 4 – WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 3
Each day from 9.30am, you can either opt to paint on the beautiful Mountain Seas property which has views of Mt Strzelecki in one direction and ocean views in the other, or more intimate locations down by the creek or in the forest. Or you can venture out to another location with our driver.
The most beautiful coastal location on the island, Trousers Point Beach is only a 30 minute walk from the lodge. On our last trip, some of our guests went for an early morning swim before breakfast or a sunset stroll after dinner. B,L,D)
DAYS 5, 6 & 7 – FEB 4, 5 & 6
After breakfast the choice is yours; spend the day or half day at another location or relax at Mountain Seas. (B,L,D)
DAY 8 – SUNDAY FEBRUARY 7 - FLINDERS ISLAND TO ESSENDON AIRPORT
You will be driven to the airport to catch the 1pm flight to Essendon Airport (B,L)
